The official Play Alberta sportsbook app is now available for sports bettors in the province. The Play Alberta app will be rolled out in phases. Per sources, the first phase will focus on sports betting features that are currently available on PlayAlberta.ca.

According to the news release from the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC), the Play Alberta app will have over 50 sports and leagues. Available leagues include the CFL, MLB, NBA, NFL and NHL.
Casino, lottery, instants and live dealer products will all be added in the second phase of its launch. The second phase is slated for the first half of 2025. The app will be available via the Apple App and Google Play stores.
Additionally, the app will also integrate PlayAlberta.ca’s responsible gambling features, including the GameSense and Self-Exclusion programs. This gives players access to resources such as bet, loss and time limits along with cool-off settings.
“Mobile sports betting continues to evolve for Play Alberta with our new app, available to Apple and Android users, that optimizes their experience while accessing our product,” said Steve Lautischer, Executive Vice President, Business Development, AGLC.
“In addition to unique, Alberta-based markets, the app gives bettors added security when signing up and using the platform, knowing that their personal and financial information are safe.”
App users will have access to the “My Account” feature
Furthermore, app users will be able to access the “My Account” feature. The tool allows users to make seamless banking transactions. This includes deposits and withdrawals, in addition to tracking available promotional sports bonuses.
PlayAlberta.ca is a leader in the iGaming landscape in the province. In the 2023-24 fiscal year, online gaming in Alberta generated $235 million in net sales, an increase of more than $42 million from 2022-23.
