According to the latest iGaming Ontario marketing report, casino gambling represents 73% of betting revenue for the first quarter (Q1) of the 2024-2025 fiscal year (FY), from April 1 to June 30, 2024.

“With 50 regulated Operators and a one-third increase in wagering and revenue figures over the first quarter of last year, Ontarians who choose to gamble are finding many enjoyable options in our open regulated iGaming market,” said Martha Otton, Executive Director of iGaming Ontario.
“The revenue generated by Ontario’s competitive iGaming market contributes directly to provincial priorities such as infrastructure, healthcare, and education.”
Ontarian gamblers wagered $18.4 billion in Q1 of the 2024-2025 FY. That’s a 3.4% increase over last quarter and a 31% increase over Q1 of last year. Total gaming revenue of $726 million shows a 5.2% increase over Q4 and a 34% increase year-over-year.
There were 50 operators with 80 gaming websites with gaming activity in Q1. Nearly 1.9 million player accounts were active during Q1 in Ontario.
iGaming Ontario announced casino games accounted for nearly $15.5 billion of total wagers, $529 million of gaming revenue
Active player accounts are accounts with cash and/or promotional wagering activity during the time period. These accounts do not represent unique players as individuals may have accounts with multiple operators.
The average monthly spend per active player account was $284. Casino games, including slots, live and computer-based table games and peer-to-peer bingo, accounted for nearly $15.5 billion (84%) of total wagers and $529 million (73%) of gaming revenue.
Betting, including on sports, esports, proposition and novelty bets, along with exchange betting, accounted for $2.5 billion (14%) of total wagers and $181 million (25%) of gaming revenue.
Additionally, peer-to-peer (P2P) poker accounted for $402 million (2.2%) of total wagers and $16 million (2.2%) of gaming revenue.
The Ontario iGaming market includes all eligible games offered by operators pursuant to an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario. The report does not include OLG’s iGaming offering or pari-mutuel wagering on horseracing.
