The Canadian Gaming Summit is going to spotlight responsible gaming in June

In Canada, the online sports betting and gaming market continues to grow with increasing popularity. The digital age of gambling has introduced cutting-edge technologies, innovative marketing experience initiatives, and gaming experiences. While all this is happening, player safety might be overshadowed. That’s why the upcoming Canadian Gaming Summit is set to spotlight responsible gaming in a market where digital gambling is at the forefront. The Summit is being held in Toronto, Canada from June 18-20. It will feature a 300-capacity Player Protection Symposium. On June 18, this Symposium will be held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. At the symposium, they will address crucial player protection issues like effective marketing strategies for responsible gaming, safeguarding high-stakes players, and establishing a reputable brand for operators.

What panels will be featured at the Canadian Gaming Summit in June?

The first panel that will be offered at the Summit is titled “Safeguarding the Stakes: Strategies for Player Protection at the VIP/High Roller Level.” Industry experts like Martin Lyka, Bill Pascrell III, Adi Markus, and moderator Jay Robinson. Lyka is the senior vice president of regulatory affairs and responsible gaming at Entain. Pascrell III is a partner at the PPAG and Markus is the director of Customer Success at Optimotive. They will discuss measures on how to protect high-stakes players and framework to enhance VIP player care. 

Next is the “Ethical Engagement: Harmonizing Branding and Responsible Gaming Efforts” panel. They are going to dive into how effective branding can support responsible gaming initiatives. Speaking at this panel will be Sarah Brennan, Aaron GlynWilliams, Riona Mohan, Jacob Hargaden-Llewellin, and moderator Ikim Hincer. Brennan is the senior director is customer compliance at DraftKings. GlynWilliams is the director of social responsibility at OLG. Mohan is the director of marketing at Betty and Hargaden-Llewellin is the country manager of Canada at LeoVegas. 

Additionally, there is the “Navigating Responsible Marketing: Ensuring Compliance and Promoting Safe Gambling Practices” panel. They will discuss the best practices for ethical marketing. Experts speaking at this panel are Gavin Whiteley Ryan McCarthy, and Tyjondah Kerr. Whiteley is the chief marketing officer for Great Canadian Entertainment. McCarthy is the director of player health at BCLC. Kerr is the director is social responsibility at OLG. Together, they will talk about how using celebrities in betting ads is a risk to players. 

Finally, it’s the “Unified Visions, Diverse Paths: Responsible Gaming Initiatives Across Canadian Provinces” panel. They will explore the different approaches being taken to approach responsible gambling across all provinces. Speaking at this panel are Paul Burns, Catherine Jermaine, and moderator Mike Maodus. Burns is the president of the Canadian Gaming Association and Jermaine is the director of industry programs and monitoring for iGaming Ontario.
