The data analysts from Best Sports Betting Canada have analyzed the best video game scores from Metacritic to determine the highest-rated games ever.
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is the best video game ever made, according to critics. The N64 release earned a near-perfect 99 out of 100 score, the highest of any game ever.
Not only does Nintendo boast the best game ever made, but it has released six of the top-10 ranked video games ever.
Super Mario Odyssey & Red Dead Redemption 2 are the two most recent games to make the list.
According to the study, Grand Theft Auto IV is the best video game released in the last 20 years with an average critic score of 98 out of 100.

With an average critic score of 99 out of 100, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time stands alone as the best game ever made. The N64 game was released in 1998 and has become a fan favorite among gamers but not everyone agrees. The game received an average user score of just 91 out of 100.
On the other hand, Resident Evil’s 2022 release on GameCube falls on the opposite end of the spectrum. The title received an average critic score of 91 out of 100 and failed to make the top-10 list but users scored the game differently, giving it 97 out of 100.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 is another hotly contested game that made the top-10 list. It receives a 98 out of 100 from critics but just a 7.5 out of 10 from users.

Released on October 26, 2018, Red Dead Redemption 2 is also among the games considered to be the best ever. The stunning visuals, size, and detail of the open world, story, and performance all surpassed expectations set forth by critics. It was released on PS4, XBox One, and PC.
